Save The Frogs Day 2025 – Kenya Herpetology Tours

Each year, Save The Frogs marks the annual Save The Frogs Day. The event is marked on April 28th and is celebrated as the largest global event dedicated to frogs.

On April 28th, 2025; Kenya Herpetology Tours joined millions of nature enthusiasts, amphibian Biologists and conservationists across the globe, to mark the Save The Frogs Day.

The event took place at Mugumoini Primary School. The school is located on the vast Kinangop Plateau, a highland grassland plateau in Central Kenya. The Kenya Herpetology Tours volunteers took part in a two days’ frogging survey in different parts of the Kinangop Plateau, before the main event.

The main event involved a school meeting with the environmental club members at Mugumoini Primary School. Here there were lectures on frogs’ Biology, conservation of frogs and their habitats. The students also took part in a short competition where winners received gifts donated by Kenya Herpetology Tours.

Friends of Kinangop Plateau, a local site support group working in the area was also represented well. The members of the group gave speeches on conservation and education efforts they are carrying out in the area.
